Hi everyone,

Just a note to let you know that there is a replacement design for download on the page describing the Crocheted Lady #1.

If you own the set and haven't sewn it yet, only the bottom half had the patterned edge on it.

Please discard the original design and replace it with this one.

I do apologize for any problems this may have caused.

For those of you who haven't purchased Crocheted Lady #1, Belle, this is a chance to try a sample of the set.

Method I use for hooping...

  1. Hoop a double layer of Aqua Magic nice and tight.
  2. Spray with KK2000
  3. Smooth the fabric you will be using to sew the design on into position on the Aqua Magic.

Threads you can use

I now have my own six colors of Poly Quilter thread…

It’s by Superior Threads see them pictured at www.superiorthreads.com

You can purchase them at most Viking and Pfaff dealers and many other fine stores across the country.

These are soft, tone on tone variegated colors.

Here are their names…

Strawberry Parfait, Lemon Chiffon, Key Lime, The Blues, Purple Passion, and the newest color,Rainbow Sherbet!

  1. The design looks great in 12 weight cotton by Sulky too!
  2. Actually, both of the sew-outs I have pictured are sewn with a combination of these two threads.
  3. The weight of the thread makes the design stand up beautifully.
  4. You can sew it with 30 weight cotton or 30 weight rayon too.
  5. Just remember to put in a size 90/14 or a 100/16 topstitching needle and raise the upper tension a little to make the heavier thread sew better.
  6. And…DON’T FORGET TO CLIP YOUR THREADS BETWEEN COLORS.
  7. You will be thrilled with the results when you take this little extra bit of time.

Ways to Use the Design...

Method #1

  1. The design can be sewn as a doily with a free standing edge...
  2. The first color is gray, You're not really meant to sew it with gray...
  3. It's just a way for the machine to stop so you can trim away the excess fabric.
  4. Put the color in that you will be sewing the entire edge with...
  5. After the machine stitches around 2 times, trim very close to the edge of the fabric and continue with the colors in the way that they are listed.
  6. When you are finished, wash out the stabilizer and use your “doily” as a gift for a friend…gather it in the center and hand tack it to a clip used for hair barrettes.

Method #2

  1. The design can be sewn as an applique...
  2. Hoop the fabric you are going to sew the appliqué to…this would be your garment, your pillowtop…etc.
  3. Lay the fabric you want to use as the appliqué on top of the hooped fabric.
  4. The first color is gray…you're not really meant to sew it with gray...it's just a way for the machine to stop so you can trim away the fabric.
  5. Put the color in that you will be sewing the entire edge with...
  6. After the machine stitches around 2 times and stops…
  7. Trim very close to the outside edge of the appliqué fabric and continue with the colors in the way that they are listed or your own chosen colors.

Method #3

  1. Use it as a design for a pillow front.
  2. I sewed the design this way and when it finished sewing, I embroidered an initial in the center.
  3. Beautiful!

A few words about the Crocheted Lady #1, Belle

There are a total of 48 designs in the set.

There are four size Belles in the set, two for the four inch hoops and two for the larger hoops.

  1. 1. Say1001 – Say1003 - 4 inch
    2. Say1004 – Say1009 - 4 inch
    3. Say1010 – Say 1012 - 5” x 7” inch hoops
    4. Say1013 – Say1020 - 5” x 7” inch hoops

Each of these groups has their own side edgings to fit the Belle.

These numbers, Say1021 – Say1042 are bits and pieces of the designs that you can use to embellish between the girls or for use in other ways.

Design number Say1043 is a pocket topper that you can use to embellish a pocket on a denim shirt.

The designs from Say1045 – Say1048 are little doilies that can be used for coasters, flower girl hats/covers and anything else your heart desires.

The last designs are pieces that can be used to create tablecloths, larger oval doilies, sleeve edges and a myriad of different things.

We will soon have Crocheted Lady #3 and 4.  #3 is named Josephine and #4 is Elizabeth.  Watch for them at your local dealer or right here.

Thank you so much for your continued patronage of our products.

Happy Sewing,

Cindy  :)
